Hello,
I'm here to tell you about a game called Manamon. I was a beta tester for this game, and I have to say it's one of the best audio games I've played in a long time.
The price is a little high at $40, but the developer took a long time making it nearly a year and a half, and in my opinion, he has every right to charge what he wants for it. He's a one man team, and he does all the work. $40 isn't that bad, entombed was $40, 3d Vilosity was $40, and I'm sure there were others.
Before you decide if you'd like to buy it or not, it let's you play almost half the game as a demo. Try the demo, and then decide for yourselves if you think it's worth $40.
You can get it at:
http://www.vgstorm.com
Enjoy! I love it.
Considering what the mainstream gaming community pays for games, $40 is reasonable. Though considering the quality of most audio games - at least the ones I've encountered - it is not. That said, I'll give this a look.
This guy tends to rip people off. He should pay his testers.
really awesome game, i have 2 transformed Manamons, working on my others before i go to fight the next master. $40 is not bad for this game. i wish i could pay it, not only to finish the game but the online battles and stuff like that pritty cool.
So how far does the unpaid version take you?
up to the second staidium, but its a lot before getting there.
I hope nothing is taken from real Pokémon game or someone could get in trouble. Anyway its fun. Just finished first stadium.
Hm maybe game should be 25 for the full solo game or 40 if you want to be able to compete and or trade manamon with other players. Just my opinion.
yeah that would be a good idea
Only the basic ideas is taken from Pokémon, Digimon and Yu-Gi-O. All the characters and things are original, so there shouldn't really be any danger of legal backlash. I will definitely purchase it as soon as finances permit since I really enjoy the demo so far. The irony is that I was never much of a fan of Pokémon or the two other games from which Manamon draws its inspiration.
this game sounds fun! will try out the demo version. :)
At what point in the game can you breed your Manamon? Also I would like to get on Skype with someone so they can help me to connect to the online trade/battle thing. I have tried it with a couple of people and I can't connect to them and they cant connect to me.
ok, got the game and captured 2 manamon. now, battle!
I have bought it now, not too often a game like that draws my attention as quickly as this one has.
lol, I can't stop playing it. I keep forgetting to save so... restart all over. fun. now, I'm outside on the prarie and don't know how to get to the hotel. help?
oooh definitely checking this one out. :)
Yay I can finally connect to someone and trade and battle with them. It was fun. :)
ah nice! how exactly do you do that? oh wait, not there yet. barely in the stadium.
which reminds me... I go to the stadium and no one is there. is there something I'm missing?
You actually have to go to the belltower first and work your way up to the top. Defeating the Tamer up there will grant you access to the stadium. I myself have made it past the second stadium.
ah nice!
I finally made it to the first stadium. heading off to the second. unfortunately, that's all I could play. because of demo version. oh well. :( I'll have to keep taming my manamon. :)
i got passed the first stadium and am stuck now. i don't know where to go from here
Return and rest at the hotel. After the cutscene that occurs you can enter the eastern gate to Skien Path.
i'm there, but i can't figure out where to go from there
It's basically an easterly path although you do have to veer north or south occasionally to find the next passage. There's a guy near the end who'll heal you for a fee, then a fight with some not-so-nice characters
ok, so encountered those characters. Now at the tunnel. I am looking for some dude's ring in there right? :p wow, those characters were fierce. :( they take my manamon, and he gets defeated. haha! :d
but anyways, what do I do after I get back in the tunnel?
I figured it out.
Too bad these are all PC games only.
I understand why, but would be nice to have a mac version. While I'd totally pay 40 bucks for a game, I'm not going to set up Fusion, etc., just to play games, since I play games rather occasionally.
It would be even cooler if there was an IOS version.
what is your favorite type of manamon and your least favorite type of manamon? what moves do you like the most?
Pandourbit is one of my favorites; Aside from speed, he has high attack and health and once he gets spirit force and Earthquake later on is pretty devastating; He really carried the fight in my first Irrodium battle.
I like the Elemental mammals I guess? Fauntozaur, Jimitron, frenrir, Merembear. I have all of these on my post game team and they're all pretty solid; all of them get reliable high level moves of their element and have the stats to use them even if Jimitron and Frenrir seem a bit frail at times. Their designs are nice as well.
I gather that Skirial is generally considered bad outside of the early game but I was able to use one through the fifth stadium or so and didn't have a problem. I've always liked Erroir's design and lore and am using one in a new playthrough and it just learned sparking tail in the mid 20s which is awesome if it hits.
The only one that I dislike is Chingle; mainly the fact that all early game tamers seem to have them and they always use sing over and over again. Bellaard doesn't seem to do this when you see them later on.
I like chingle... but haven't leveled that up. Ok... what moves work against pandourbit so I could catch it?
Pandourbit is weak to a whole pile of stuff. Notably plant, ice, water, ghost, undead and holy, at the very least. There are two in the game, so you've got time to get the second if you miss or kill the first.
oh ok. I'm gonna fight the first one in the woods. :) And see if I catch it!
Question... Ok so I am in the mineref tunnel. when does zimbat, lionara, and manja transform? thank you! I want to catch me a zimbat, (although in this walkthrough I've read it's says it is weak.)
Leonra transforms at level 34 or 35 into Leonatar, so you're gonna be awhile. That line of manamon is awesome.
Monja turns into Niamanja at level 28 I think, or maybe it's 27. That line is...not so good. Very fast, decent attacking/special attacking stats, and terrible moves for the most part.
Zinbat transforms at level 24 or 25 I believe, then again using a Star Element. It will get Wing Slash, to use off its pitiful attack stat, at level 28 as a Zintrabat I believe, and at really high levels, Orystar will learn Meteor Rush. It is fairly strong (with some decent status moves in Magic Lights and Knockout Venom), but it's also extremely frail, and is weak to a lot of things. It's not the worst magic type out there, but it's not the best either.
Thanks, Gregg!
grabbed this game for the hell of it. can't even get out of the area you start out in--the house. Pointers please.
never mind, got it
If you need any help, I got ya covered.
no visuals I am assuming?
you're correct. No visuals.
Hello!
I am stuck in the mines before going to the second stadium... there is a ladder that should take me to deeper levels in the maze but is not working, what am I missing to continue the game? thanks for any help and sorry for any writing mistakes :)
ok, so, did you go to the bridge? you get a cut scene in wich the guy asks you to get an engagement ring for him wich is in the ladder of the tunnel. And key: there's a hidden item in the second upper part of the tunnel. Oh yeah, and after you go to the bridge part to talk to the man, you'll have to fight ciera again.
There are lots of audio playthroughs here and there. if you're lucky, you would find it. :D
Liam is doing a walk-through of manamon and several other games on his youtube channel. It will probably answer most of your questions. His channel can be found at:
www.youtube.com/liamerven
oh yeah, beat me to it, mad dog. hahaha, talking about Liam... *runs and watches part 17* hahaha!
I finally leveled up my lionar to a lonar! feels good! although, I still have a few manamon at level 11.
guys... I'm sad to say... I have to fucking start over again. when I tried to load up my game, I got an error message with a bunch of nonsense things. sad and angry because I had a great team, an errior, lonar, a tediburn wich was going to transform into a merenbear, all that gone. arrrrggggg! Oh well, I'll restart. and, maybe catch me some better manamon. *angrily throws the software in the trash*
This is why it's probably best to save your game into a backup location as well. That way, you won't risk losing too much of your game if you might get any other similar errors that would've ordinarily forced you to start over again.
Good rule of thumb when playing games where you can have multiple save slots is to save onmultiple save slots. That way if one gets corrupted, you have a backup. Saving it to a physical backup is definetly a good idea too though. I can't remember if this game has multiple slots or not. I only played the first hour or so before it made me stop.
It doesn't have multiple save slots, sadly.
If it did, and if it let you, you could conceivably trade with yourself in a legit non-finicky way.
This game's lifespan is measured in months, not years, so I strongly believe that the need for trades to transform certain creatures, plus trades to even get a couple of them (like the other starters) is silly. With fixed movesets, lots of weak manamon and virtually no endgame past the master stadium, there's so, so much blown potential here.
Yeah, I wish it did though. it'll sure help a bunch! :d
Restarted my game through tears and shit. got the same starter so... I'm glad for that. rofl
I'm up to the starwalk mountain. and now I'm stop playing it.
Speaking about trading, you could also do a self trading as well. But it's requires patient.
I'm actually amazed by how much I like this game considering I never got into Pokémon itself. I'm up to the Shadow Kingdom which in typical VG-Storm fashion is borderline unfair in places in my opinion. Right now I'm working on just filling out my Manapedia by transforming certain of my Manamon, hoping in the process to earn enough gold for all the healing items I'm going to need, especially when I get up to the fight with Irroadium. I attempted to basically brute force that one during my last playthrough and it wasn't pretty LOL.
The thing that I dislike so much about Irroadium in general, is he makes him super overpowered when -you- have to be the one to fight him. Then, when you capture him yourself down the line, he's pathetic. Probably the worst mythical in the entire game. Doesn't even do the health regen per round or anything fancy.
I dunno. Irroadium actually has some pretty frightening attack. Its attacks are all physical. It's fairly quick. And it gets Oblivion Slash, which means it's an extremely nice exp-trick user. Taballus is arguably better with its magic typing, but Ziognioss is not too useful, and Peggisen is just wrecked, never mind all its types. And if you compare Irroadium at level 70 when it's caught to anything else at that level, its stat spread is better, far and away better. I'm glad it doesn't get all the ridiculous abilities it had in god-beast form, since that would just make it supremely overpowered. The game's already broken enough as it is.
I don't want it to have all of the super amazing powers that it has when you're fighting him, you misunderstand. All I was suggesting is that it should remain consistent; if he's going to be a certain way when he's captured, he should probably be that way or similar to it when you're fighting him too.
And the sad part is Aaron seems to have no plans to unbreak the game, but that seems to be parr for the course I'm sad to say.
I love the game. I'm up to the master stadium.
Manamon is kind of very unbalanced. though it's a good game. example give an undead manamon points at fiendor a headstone amulet, and the only thing that can crush it is ghost. since headstone makes it immune to holy. on top of it already being immune to magic and poison.
True. THen you have Manamon with movesets that are largely irrelevant to their typing, Manja anyone? That said I too love the game, though due to a computer death I've been unable to play for the past several months.
yeah... when I wanted to load it again... it didn't load. sad sad.
hello guys! manananamon update! I'm working on completing the manaedia. have you guys traded online with other players and challenged them? I did it a lot with a friend of mine and well, let's just say he has better manamon then I. lol
all I need is lamburg, flamia, flamerick, tilevile, aquaffe, the other 2, and... hmm... mortrex, and mianecko.
